Tony Hawk has the best record in skateboarding history, at twelve, he was sponsored by Dogtown skateboards, by fourteen he was pro, and by age sixteen Tony Hawk was the best skateboarder in the world. Hawk has entered an estimated 103 pro contests; he’s won 73 of them. As 17 he bought his own home. Hawk was constantly traveling worldwide for demos and contests.

Tony Hawk has created a commercial empire with one of the largest skateboard companies in the world, Birdhouse Projects, a kid's skate clothing company, Hawk Clothing, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater video game for PlayStation. The Tony Hawk Pro Skater series has become one of the best-selling video-game franchises of all time. His autobiography, HAWK - Occupation: Skateboarder was a New York Times bestseller. He created Tony Hawk's Gigantic Skatepark Tour for ESPN. Hawk retired from competitive skating at the age of 31.

Hawk has featured in over 50 skateboarding documentaries and has become a pop culture icon, voted “Best Male Athlete of the Year” at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. in 2002, Hawk appeared alongside fellow skateboarder Bam Margera on Jackass: The Movie (2002).

The Tony Hawk Foundation has made an effort to give something back to the sport of skating. Designed to promote and help finance public skateparks in low-income areas, the foundation has distributed more than $1,000,000 to non-profit groups building skateparks throughout the U.S.

Bam Margera (Brandon Cole Margera) is a professional skateboarder and television personality. He released a series of videos under the CKY (Camp Kill Yourself) banner – the CKY crew consists of many of Margera’s friends, including Ryan Dunn, skateboarding and doing stunts. His large sponsorship packages assure him of "pro" status. Bam came to prominence after being drafted into MTV's Jackass crew. He has featured in both Jackass movies and Haggard (2003), which he also co-wrote and directed. Haggard was based on real events in the life of his friend Ryan Dunn. He has since appeared in “Viva La Bam”(MTV); the show follows Margera and his crew as they perform various stunts and missions. Bam has a weekly radio show, Radio Bam that features friends from CKY and Jackass crews. Margera owns a music label, Filthy Note Records, and has directed several videos for CKY. Margera is set to appear in a new MTV show in 2007 entitled "Bam's Unholy Union". The show will feature Margera, his fiance Melissa Rothstein and their friends in the lead-up to their wedding.

Ryan Dunn is the star of MTV show, “Homewrecker”. He is a cast member of both MTV programs “Jackass” and “Viva La Bam” as well as the film, Jackass The Movie (2004). Dunn is also a member of CKY (Camp Kill Yourself) and started making his own videos with Bam, featuring skating and random stunts. CKY were soon picked up by Knoxville’s “Jackass”.

Dunn ‘s most famous role was in Jackass The Movie where he completed his hardest stunt of all time, shoving a toy car up his posterior and getting a doctor to believe that it occurred while he was asleep during a frat party.

Mike Vallely was the NSA National Amateur Streetstyle Champion in 1986 and turned pro in 1987. In 1995 Mike won the first annual Skatepark Of Tampa Pro Street Contest in Tampa, Florida and competed in the first ever X-Games. In 1997 Mike traveled to China to do the very first professional skateboard demonstrations in that country. In 1998 Etnies Footwear released Mike V’s first signature skateboard shoe. In the summer of 2001 Mike joined Tony Hawk on his Gigantic Skatepark Tour and would go on to be featured on many of Hawk’s tours and in his Pro Skater, Underground, American Wasteland and Project 8 video games. In 2002 Build Worldwide released the documentary film “DRIVE” detailing Mike’s career, his passion for skateboarding and his dedication to the skateboard community. That same year Mike formed his band Mike V And The Rats as well as recorded his first solo record with legendary singer/songwriter Joe Grushecky. He continues to pursue his music with his new band Revolution Mother formed in November 2005. Mike is a board member of the Tony Hawk Foundation, which helps fund skateparks nationwide and also sits on the board of the Patrick Kerr Skateboard Scholarship, which funds college scholarships for skateboarders.

Mike began riding BMX in 1990 at age 12. During a road trip to the Oklahoma BS Contest in 1992, the ever loquacious Mike wouldn't stop yacking, so his friends and travel mates threatened to tie him up on the roof of the van if he didn't shut up, hence his nickname, ‘Rooftop.’

Dave Parrick's Dirty Deeds video played a big role in the explosion of street riding back around 1993-'94. He became the first etnies BMX Team Manager. Thanks to the influence of Mike, etnies has become a major force to be reckoned with in BMX. He's known for orchestrating big stunts in front of the camera (his part in etnies Forward was the biggest production ever in a BMX video).
